Gift the special person in your life a modern heirloom they will want to wear always, with this garnet and gold vermeil necklace.

Inspired by nature, this deep pomegranate red gemstone sits like raindrops in the middle of three cup lichen. Each element sits on a textured gold vermeil circular branch. The organic and tactile finish to the necklace embraces the individuality of nature and is pleasingly tactile to wear.

Celebrate January birthstones or wear if you are drawn to the garnet, a gemstone that is linked to success, good health, and prosperity.

Part of the Lichen Collection, designed in Wales by Claire and handmade by skilled artisans in Thailand using sustainable materials and ethical practices. Discover the rest of the birthstones in the collection.

♢ Gold Vermeil (pronounced ver’may) is a way of having a premium, long-lasting finish at an affordable price tag. We use 2.5microns of gold plating over sterling silver (recycled here) in every single gold piece. That’s five times thicker plating than normal gold-plated jewellery. To ensure these are pieces you will wear forever, I offer a re-plating service if you need it in the future.

♢ I’m sure that a circular economy is the way forward in jewellery manufacture. That’s why certified recycled silver is used in all of the pieces customers can buy. It cuts down CO2 emissions by 2/3rds of mined silver.

♢ The majority of our silver is bought in Thailand and comes from previously owned jewellery, industry or electronics components. It is refined and purified before being recast and the parts of this process are certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council and London Bullion Market Association. A selection of our chains are made in the UK with recycled silver.

♢ Recycled silver has its own hallmark and of course, it’s slightly more expensive to use. I believe it’s more than worth it. Look out for my ‘buy back silver’ scheme which I will be launching.

♢ I’m committed to working with long-term partners in Thailand who guarantee that all materials including chains, findings and gemstones come from the most ethical sources.

♢
Both factories are experts in handmade jewellery and are committed to fair working practices for their employees. These includefair living wages, paid holidays, pensions, childcare, no child labour.

♢ The factories are audited and one is a member of the Responsible Jewellery Council. You can find out more about them here.

♢ A selection of my chains are made in the UK by a leading family-run business who have been producing for more than 40 years.

♢ Your jewellery comes in a complimentary luxury branded box. It's great for keeping your jewellery pristine. But if you don't want to keep it, we pride ourselves in ensuring every element of the box can be placed straight into the paper recycling.

♢ 100% Recyclable - All of our postage packaging and wrapping can go straight into your recycling - just take your Royal Mail address label off first.
