FAQ

How to Place an Order 

All items are available to purchase in person or via my website. All website orders must receive payment of the whole of the price for the goods that you order before your order can be accepted. Once payment has been received by us we will confirm that your order has been accepted by sending an email to you at the email address you provide in your order form.  All orders are subject to acceptance by us.

We require a 50% deposit for any products ordered at the show, we will then invoice the remaining amount before the order can be accepted.

 

How long will it take to get my items? 

Every millinery/bridal item is handmade to order and will take between 2-3 weeks on average. In busy periods we will inform you if there is any change to this timescale. If you need your order quicker please contact us directly and we can see what we can do.

Jewellery will be posted first class within three days of payment being received.

 

Delivery
UK delivery is free. Millinery and bridal headpieces will be posted second class signed for, jewellery will be sent in the first class post. If you wish to upgrade your shipping please contact us.

 

Bespoke
Our hats and headbands are customisable to give you that personal touch. Email us direct to discuss changes to colour, look and whether you would like your headpieces on a band, headband or clips. Please note the returns policy on bespoke items.

 

Products

We source high-quality materials in our products. The felt we use for our hats is peachbloom fur, the crystals used in our products are made by Swarovski. Our vines are made with anti-tarnish silver and gold plated wire. The flowers/lichen is hand-cut, shaped and stitched using a range of silk fabric. The leather we use is faux for ethical reasons. 
Our jewellery is made with gold plated brass or rhodium plated brass and chains are gold filled or sterling silver as described. 

While all pieces are durable and made to a high standard, we advise that you handle them carefully.  It is recommended that you pick your headpiece up by the base and avoid handling the beading and petals. You can manipulate some of the vines to wear them in different ways but try not to bend them too much as it could cause damage. With wires, it is recommended to keep them away from lotions and hairspray.

To keep your hats safe we recommend keeping them in their box and being careful in heavy rain and bad weather. If you would like some tips on keeping your hat looking like new please email us.

Jewellery is often very delicate so please be careful with links and connections. To keep the plating from tarnishing or fading we recommend not showering with your jewellery and keeping perfume and lotions away from earrings and necklaces.

All of our millinery and bridal products are individually handcrafted and whilst every effort is made to replicate the original design, very slight variations may occur. The Lichen Collection is all cut free hand to ensure uniqueness, meaning the individual pieces will vary in shape and size. Measurements given are approximate but shall be as accurate as we can reasonably make them. Claire Hill Designs cannot accept responsibility for any variations in the appearance of the colour of our products due to the computer equipment or software used by our customers.

 

Returning an item

We want you to be satisfied every time you shop with us so we make our returns policy simple. We can accept returns on items that are ready to buy in our shop. If for any reason the product does not meet your expectations, we are happy to offer an exchange or refund where possible, provided a Returns Number is requested within 7 days of receipt and item is returned within 14 days from when you receive them. Refunds will be issued providing all items are unworn and in original packaging. The buyer is responsible for return P&P.  We suggest items are returned signed for as we will not be held responsible for missing returns.

Once returns have been received and checked by us we will issue a refund within 5-7 days via the original payment method.
We regret that we are unable to offer refunds on products that have been made to order or customised. Earrings are not able to be returned due to hygiene reasons. This policy does not affect your statutory rights.
